
Daniel started his musical career in his hometown of Echuca studying classical organ and then began learning the cornet in the Echuca Federal Band. He began conducting at an early age conducting school concert and jazz bands. Since then, Daniel has gone on to conduct numerous ensembles including brass bands, orchestras, new music ensembles and variety of musicals and light opera. In 2018, Daniel was appointed a life member of the Victorian Bands League.
Daniel studied Music Performance at the Victorian College of the Arts, Teaching at Deakin University and Conducting at the University of Melbourne. Daniel holds Associate Diplomas in Band Studies (Horn) and Musicianship and is an Associate of Trinity College London on Euphonium.
In the competition arena, Daniel has conductor bands to victory at 9 Australian National Band Championships and over 30 other competitions.
As a sought-after assessor and adjudicator, Daniel has adjudicated at many competitions including the Australian National Band Championships, Bendigo Competitions, LaTrobe Valley Eisteddfod, Boroondara Eisteddfod and is currently an assessor for the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority.
Currently, Daniel is the Head of Performing Arts at Wantirna College and the Artistic Director of Boroondara Brass Inc. and Knox Wind Symphony Inc.
